Found Pets
If you have found a lost pet please notify the shelter by phone at (239) 533-7387 (LEE-PETS). If you choose to hold the animal instead of bringing it to the shelter we will need a Found Report in case the owners come to the shelter looking for their animal. You should also bring it to the shelter to be scanned for a Microchip ID. This may be the only way we can identify the owner if the tags are not on the animal. If you fail to have the animal scanned and it has a Microchip ID you will prevent the rightful owners from claiming their pet. When making the Found Report please include a photo if possible since many animals fit the same general description. You may also determine the breed to be different than what the owner believes it to be.
We are unable to list Found Pets on our website. Our website is linked to our shelter software and automatically updates the website as animals are signed into our kennels. If you would like to create a poster of the pet you have found click here and select pet poster.
